C++: "Malevolent Revenge!", Linux Allegro Game

<- Return to Programming blog
Update 2012-03-26
I have now finished v1.0.0 of my Linux Allegro game, now entitled "Malevolent Revenge!"

Take a look at the video: -

Linux build: malevolent_revenge_linux_v1.0.0.zip (29.5KB)
Windows build: malevolent_revenge_win_v1.0.0.zip (364.5KB)
Source code: malevolent_revenge_src_v1.0.0.zip (38.5KB)

The resource files (bitmaps, music etc), same for Linux and Windows versions, to be placed in the same directory as the executable: -
malevolent_revenge_files_v1.0.0.zip (14.6MB)

Building from source in Ubuntu aside from the usual also requires liballegro4.2-dev and running requires liballegro4.2 and liballegro4.2-plugin-esd.
Running under Windows requires alleg42.dll (included in zip) and the MS Visual C++ 2010 runtime: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5555

I'm currently working on a game for a Software Programming assignment for uni. It's going to be a top-down monster survival shooter with classic sprites and 8-bit tunes!

There's still a lot to do, but take a look at the video to see how it's progressing (sorry, no sound in this video)...
